January 15, 2008: Winter Gypsy Style Garage Sale
THIS is the semi annual event you have been waiting for since the end of September! This is what will help you through this rough-biting-cold winter! (and coincidently this will help us produce Bellies For Life!)
Come and shop for a good cause - all items are donated by Pangaea dance members and friends, all proceeds go toward producing Bellies For Life and eventually to a Breast Cancer fund.
When? Saturday, January 26th, 2008 at 9am till 2pm
Where? 607 Rossmoor Court, Champaign IL
December 20th 2007: New classes schedule
Pangaea Dance Studio is holding now only an Advanced level class. Class meets on Wednesdays at 6pm at Club Evolve. See the classes page for more details.
November 7th 2007: Register to Sonya's / Chellcy's Workshop

weekend has started!

Upcoming Hafla: Belly-Boo! on October 27th @ 7pm
This is the time to shimmy, the time to be funny and funky!
Pangaea Dance Studio is throwing a Halloween spirited Hafla. Come and join us as we
go all out and get as silly as possible.
Some of us are choreographing to some non-traditional
music and will be performing.
Anticipate good company (that's you) good music (feel free to bring anything you'd like to
shimmy to) good food (please bring a dish to share) and much much drumming and dancing!
Place - 1101 W. Springfield, Champaign. (watch the CU Baladi calendar and messages board for updates)
August 16th 2007: Bellies For Life 2008 is underway!
It is never too early to start planning for Bellies For Life, and the Pangaea Dance Studio
members are already in full throttle:
- The HighDive secured its space for us for saturday March 8th (save the date!)
- We've sent out invitations to many a performer and already got numerous confirmations.
- 2 workshops (YES! TWO!) will be held on the Bellies For Life weekend -
one with Chellcy
and one with Sonya, both are from Chicago. Early registration is expected
to start in October, via the Pangea Dance Studio site.
August 25th 2007: The Gypsy Style Garage Sale was a huge success!
Thank you Urbanites and Champaignites for shopping at The Semi Annual Gypsy
Style Garage Sale.
Many thanks for everyone that donated "stuff" to be sold.
The sale raised about $860 (!!!) all of which will be used as seed money
for Bellies for Life 2008. We expect most of this money not to be spent and be
forwarded onto the breast cancer fund.

The Semi Annual Gypsy Style Garage Sale is under way!
Mark your calendars - Saturday August 25, 8am till last item goes
Mark your maps too - 903 E. Pennsylvania Ave. Urbana
You should expect to find great deals on regular garage sale items, and you
should also expect the irregular Gypsy items: Fresh Arabic coffee, Tarot
reading, Fortune Teller and live belly dance performances!
All items are donated by Pangaea Studio members and their families and
friends and all proceeds go towards producing

Another 6 weeks Summer class session started.
Next session starts on the week of September 9th (see classes
pages for more info).

Ishara Gamal - our leader, teacher, mentor and dear friend - had passed away
last night, after battling breast cancer for the last 2 years. More about the
life of Ishara Gamal.
